I offer individualized music lessons designed to help students develop their skills, build confidence, and become independent musicians. Lessons include regular assignments, guided practice strategies, and opportunities to grow through performance depending on location.
In person lessons are available for both piano and accordion. In person lessons are currently only offered as "In-Home" lessons where I come directly to your home for our lessons. These lessons are only offered within 30 minutes of the Conshohocken area with an added fee reflecting teacher travel time.
Online lessons are offered for both piano and accordion as well and are predominantly conducted through Microsoft Teams or Zoom when needed.
Consistent practice is essential for musical progress. Students are expected to practice at least five days per week, with the amount of practice varying according to their level and assignments. Parents of beginners and younger students are expected to help establish a regular practice routine and provide support until students become more independent. Weekly assignments should be completed and prepared for each lesson.
If a student consistently does not practice, I will work with the family to address the issue. Continued lack of practice may result in probation and, if the situation does not improve, dismissal from the studio at the end of the year.
Students are responsible for obtaining their lesson materials, including a binder, sheet protectors, folders, and assigned sheet music. All printed music must be brought to lessons in an organized binder; loose sheets are not permitted.
Studio recitals are planned for December and June, depending on studio size. Recital selections are generally chosen about eight weeks in advance, with a hearing approximately two weeks before the performance to help ensure students are prepared. Online students will discuss performance opportunities individually.
Student absences: At least 48 hours' notice is required to cancel or reschedule a lesson to be eligible for a makeup. Cancellations with less than 48 hours' notice, including those due to illness, are not eligible. When possible, lessons may be held over Zoom during illness or inclement weather.
Teacher absences: If I need to cancel a lesson, I will offer multiple makeup dates. Makeup lessons must be completed by the end of the current semester or calendar year. If a student cannot attend any of the offered dates within that timeframe, the lesson is forfeited. Missed or forfeited lessons are not refunded.
Tuition reserves a regular weekly time in the teaching schedule, so refunds are not provided for missed lessons.
If a student plans to discontinue lessons, 30 days' notice is required. Withdrawing permanently forfeits the student's regular lesson time; a returning student is not guaranteed the same time slot. Unused lessons are not refunded.
I reserve the right to discontinue lessons if a student is consistently uncooperative, is not making progress, or repeatedly fails to pay tuition on time.
If you have questions about lesson options, studio policies, or availability, please get in touch. I would be happy to discuss whether my studio is a good fit for you or your child.
